The airport is 10 minutes from Tauranga city centre and 7 minutes from central Mount Maunganui and as well as check in and baggage claim facilities there are pleasant waiting areas with great views of arriving and departing aircraft. WiFi is available throughout the terminal. The airport café in the main terminal building is open daily from 30 minutes before the first scheduled flight departs until the last flight departs and is licensed.
Airport Parking
The short term car park is located outside the terminal building, is intended for people who are meeting or seeing passengers off and for overnight parking. The first 20 minutes are free. After this the charge is $2 per hour.
Long Term Car Park
Sunair passengers should park in the Long Term Carpark.
The long term car park is located behind the roundabout as you approach the airport. The long term car park is intended for people requiring parking for periods longer than 24 hours. Vehicles are parked in the airport car parks at the vehicle owner's risk. However a full time secuirty guard patrols the airport grounds from 10pm - 6am daily.
